Weekly Legislative Update Vol. VII
jgiuntoli March 6th, 2009
March 2nd was a key cutoff date for bills in the 2009 legislative session. Bills that were not passed out of committee are considered “dead” for the remainder of session. The next key date will be March 12th which is the last day for bills to be considered in their house of origin. Bills that are moving will need to have been moved by a vote of the respective chamber.
Bills of interest are tracked which may have an impact on land owners, in this case, working land managers with issues such as Water, Land Use, etc…Simply select the category of interest from the table below and view the bills.
For hearing times and locations, please select hyperlinked bill number. By selecting the hyperlink for the bill you would like more information on, once at the bill page you can select “Bill Reports” on the right of the screen for a legislative background on the bill as well as a summary of public testimony. If you do not see a bill report, the likely reason is it has not been scheduled for a hearing. If you have questions, feel free to contact Josh Giuntoli at jgiuntoli@scc.wa.gov. OFP does not take a position on bills before the legislature.
