Weekly Legislative Update Vol. VIII

jgiuntoli March 13th, 2009

Washington State Capitol BuildingMarch 12th was a key cutoff date for bills in the 2009 legislative session. Bills that were not passed out of their respective house of origin are considered “dead” for the remainder of session. The update below are those that have passed out of their chamber. Bills now need a scheduled hearing in the other chamber and progress through the committee progress. There is also a link to bills that are now considered inactive.

For hearing times and locations, please select hyperlinked bill number. By selecting the hyperlink for the bill you would like more information on, once at the bill page you can select “Bill Reports” on the right of the screen for a legislative background on the bill as well as a summary of public testimony. If you do not see a bill report, the likely reason is it has not been scheduled for a hearing. If you have questions, feel free to contact Josh Giuntoli at jgiuntoli@scc.wa.gov. OFP does not take a position on bills before the legislature.
