Weekly Legislative Update Vol. X

jgiuntoli April 3rd, 2009

Washington State Capitol BuildingAs of Friday, April 03, 2009, the legislature has 23 days remaining to pass policy measures and budgets.

The House of Representatives is in the process of proposing and passing its own versions of the budgets. Then the two chambers must reach agreement on all three spending plans, which will take effect July 1, before the Legislature can adjourn for the year.

The legislature is not through voting on policy-related bills by any means, however, the focus of the session in these remaining few weeks clearly will be on the Legislature’s spending choices.
Bills of interest are tracked which may have an impact on land owners, in this case, working land managers with issues such as Water, Land Use, etc…Simply select the category of interest from the table below and view the bills.

If you have questions, feel free to contact Josh Giuntoli at jgiuntoli@scc.wa.gov. OFP does not take a position on bills before the legislature.

There is also a link to bills that are now considered inactive.
